The theme of Ramadan Festival 2024 is Heritage: Past, Present and Future, celebrating the rich Islamic culture and tradition observed by millions globally. Heritage, both tangible and intangible, preserves the spirit, culture, and tradition of a people, including the Qur’an as the greatest heritage.
Ramadan Festival highlights the remarkable contributions of the Muslim world to British culture and life. Through events like Open Iftar at historic sites like Guildhall and Shakespeare’s Globe, we celebrate shared cultural heritage and foster human connections. Ramadan Tent Project continues to curate spaces for reflection and belonging, weaving a dynamic history that bridges communities. This year’s festival emphasizes the importance of heritage in preserving identity, culture, and belonging, welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds.
The annual Welcome Ramadan Conference is designed to prepare the British public for the onset of Ramadan. The main theme for this year’s conference was Heritage, from British Muslim Heritage to Global Muslim Culture.
Welcome Ramadan Conference 2024 was held at the Royal Institution of Great Britain on Sunday 3rd March.
Open Iftar, a cornerstone initiative of the Ramadan Tent Project, has brought together over one million people across the UK. This milestone was achieved in some of Britain’s most cherished cultural venues, highlighting the project’s commitment to fostering community, inclusivity, and cultural exchange during Ramadan.
It stands as the UK’s largest and acclaimed community event during Ramadan, with venues ranging from Stamford Bridge to Manchester Cathedral, Shakespeare’s Globe, BALTIC, British Library, and more.
Ramadan Run Club (RRC) organises runs during Ramadan, fostering a safe space for runners seeking activity during the holy month. Aligned with the spiritual essence of Ramadan, RRC emphasises holistic well-being, addressing physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Welcoming participants from diverse faith backgrounds, RRC facilitates connections among runners of all levels, building a healthy, mindful, and spiritually fit community.
Fast a Day is an initiative aimed at businesses, offices, and corporates who want to host a small Iftar gathering on their premises to raise awareness and understanding around the month of Ramadan. Fast a Day encourages executives, staff, the local community, and the wider business network to join in fasting a day of their choice during Ramadan, allowing them to experience the magic of Open Iftar in an office setting.
We successfully hosted Fast a Day during Ramadan 2024 at Foxtons, Ogilvy UK, British Land PLC, and 22 Bishopsgate in London.
